In both daily life and the business world, sustainability is becoming an increasingly important topic. We also see more and more initiatives among our clients to make collaborations more sustainable. A great example of this is our partnership with VGE B.V. from Schijndel, the Netherlands, a specialist in UV-C equipment, with whom we have introduced a circular returnable packaging solution for laser-cut stainless steel products.
What is our priority?
Innovation and sustainability
At VGE, innovation and sustainability are top priorities. The company supplies high-quality UV-C equipment to various sectors, including the swimming pool and industrial markets. Like us at Paul Meijering Stainless, VGE works with strict quality standards and maintains a constant focus on innovation.
They recently demonstrated this commitment with the introduction of the HortiGuard UV disinfection solution. This chemical-free technology protects banana plantations from plant diseases such as Fusarium Wilt (TR4) and Moko by using UV-C to remove pathogens from irrigation water.
Quality

During our collaboration, we encountered the challenge that thin-walled stainless steel tubes are prone to deformation during laser cutting. For our team, this was not a problem but rather an opportunity to fine-tune our machines and processes even further. The result: perfectly cut tubes that meet VGE’s high standards.
This not only reduces the amount of packaging waste, but also ensures a more efficient logistics process.”
Sustainable
returnable packaging
In addition, we launched a sustainable packaging project together. Since the products we supply to VGE are largely identical, we have jointly developed a reusable packaging solution. In this packaging, the products are placed upright and returned to our workshop after delivery. This not only reduces packaging waste but also contributes to a more efficient logistics process.

ahead together
We believe that collaboration goes beyond simply delivering products. By thinking along with our clients and developing innovative solutions together, we strengthen each other. The circular packaging is a great example of this, and we look forward to taking even more sustainable steps together with VGE.
