Stainless steel 303, also known as AISI 303, features the addition of sulphur, which improves its machinability. stainless steel 303 with material number 1.4305 is less corrosion proof than the other types of stainless steel in our 300 range, so it requires gentle annealing after welding. This grade of stainless steel has a good oxidation resistance up to 925°C. stainless steel 303 is suitable for wire cutting equipment, axles, valves, nuts and bolts and bearing bushes.
