Stainless steel 304, also known as AISI 304, is suitable for most general purposes and is reasonably corrosion resistant. stainless steel 304 is non-magnetic in a gently annealed state, and weakly magnetic in a cold, warped state. stainless steel 304 is less sensitive to the release of chromium carbide during the welding process. This 304 stainless steel grade is suitable for use in the chemical and foodstuffs industries, as well as for cryogenic equipment and drain channels.
